If you go ahead, our cancellation policy for direct bookings (website, WhatsApp, email, or phone) applies: free cancellation 30+ days before arrival, 50% charged 15–29 days before, and 100% charged 0–14 days before. We never collect a deposit, prepayment, or card details online — payment is made in person, in cash (USD or EUR) or by card (3.5% processing fee), during your stay. (Bookings made through a third-party platform instead of directly follow that platform's own cancellation terms.)

Is the round-trip transfer really included?

Yes — every package on this page includes round-trip speedboat transfer between Malé and Maamigili, already included in the price shown.

What accommodation is included?

Every package includes your stay at Vilu Residence in Maamigili — see the exact accommodation line on the package you're interested in above for the specifics of that package.

Can I book accommodation without choosing a holiday package?

Yes — if you'd prefer to arrange your activities separately, you can check Vilu Residence's live accommodation availability through our booking engine. Breakfast is included with your stay either way.

Do I need to pay a deposit to enquire, or to hold a package?

No. Enquiring is free and doesn't commit you to anything. We don't collect deposits, prepayment, or card details online for direct bookings — payment is made in person, in cash (USD or EUR), during your stay.

What if I need to change my dates or cancel?

Our cancellation policy for direct bookings (website, WhatsApp, email, or phone) is tiered: free cancellation 30 or more days before arrival; a 50% charge on your total booking value for cancellations 15–29 days before arrival; and a 100% charge on your total booking value for cancellations 0–14 days before arrival. If you book through a third-party platform instead, that platform's own cancellation policy applies.

How many guests can a room hold, and is there an extra charge?

Each package's room rate covers 2 guests. Every room can accommodate a 3rd guest within its existing capacity for USD 20 per night — this applies whether or not an extra bed is set up, with no separate extra-bed charge on top. Children under 2 stay free; children aged 2–11 receive a 50% discount on the 3rd-guest charge (USD 10 per night); age 12 and above is charged at the full adult rate.

How quickly will I hear back after I enquire?

Within 24 hours.

What if the weather isn't right for one of the activities?

Weather and sea conditions can affect any of these trips. Vilu checks conditions ahead of each excursion, and a trip may be postponed, changed, or cancelled if conditions aren't suitable — we'll let you know as early as possible.

Are whale shark or manta ray sightings guaranteed on package excursions?

No. Whale sharks and manta rays are wild animals, and sightings can never be guaranteed on any single excursion. If a whale shark isn't found during the search, guests are taken to a nearby reef for snorkeling instead, and Vilu Residence may offer a discounted second attempt on another day.
