Vilu Residence is a guesthouse in Maamigili, South Ari Atoll, Republic of Maldives, operated by Mexiczone. This policy explains what information we collect through the Vilu Residence website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
Direct website booking
When you book a room directly on our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, country, chosen room(s) and dates, and number of guests, so we can process and manage your reservation.
Enquiry form
Our website's enquiry form does not submit your details to our servers. It opens your own email application with your message pre-filled, addressed to us. We only receive your enquiry if and when you choose to send that email yourself.
If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation takes place within WhatsApp and is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy terms, not by this website.
If you email us directly, or your enquiry-form email reaches us, we use the information in that email to respond to you and manage any related booking.
Analytics
With your consent (see "Cookies and analytics" below), we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website — for example, which pages are viewed and which links are used. We do not use analytics to identify you personally, and it does not run until you have given your consent.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to booking requests and enquiries;
- create, manage, and communicate with you about a reservation;
- operate and maintain our website and booking system; and
- only with your consent, understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
We do not currently use your information for advertising or remarketing.
Service providers and Google services
Our website and booking system are built on Google Firebase, which stores and processes your reservation information on our behalf. If you consent to analytics, we also use Google Analytics. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by their own data-processing terms.
International processing
Some of the services we rely on, including Google Firebase and Google Analytics, are provided by Google, whose infrastructure may process information in multiple countries where Google or its service providers operate.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet applicable business, accounting and legal requirements. Reservation and transaction records may need to be retained for longer periods where required for accounting or tax purposes. When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we aim to delete or minimize it where practical and legally permitted.
Your choices
You can accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies at any time using "Privacy Choices" in our website footer. You can also ask us what information we hold about a reservation or enquiry, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it once it is no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy, by emailing Viluresidence@gmail.com.
Security
We use industry-standard tools, including access-controlled Google Firebase security rules, to help protect the information we hold. No method of storing or transmitting information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Children
Vilu Residence is a hospitality booking website intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our website or our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
